Tour Updates

Posted by jamie on 2014-04-27 14:07
Patent Pending's UK Spring Break 2014 tour is now over half way done, with 8 out of the 12 shows finished!

The PatentPendingOnline.net team have visited three dates of the tour, Sheffield Corporation, Leeds Cockpit, and Manchester Club Academy, and at all three shows were amazing, all three bands we're on top form, and all were out with fans before and after the shows taking photographs, talking too, and signing autographs for fans.

As we reported a week before the tour started, the guys show at the Manchester Club Academy had sold out, and last nights show in London had also sold out on the night, so we at PatentPendingOnline.net would like to wish a huge well done to the band for this achievement!.

During the past few days a couple of reviews of the gigs have popped up on the internet, first from Sunday's show in Nottingham at The Hit the Deck Festival

Taken from hitthescene.net

Patent Pending are clearly doing something right, as their interaction with their fans as well as each other proves vital to their performances. It is of little surprise to see men, women and children proudly parading their Patent Pending tshirts or jackets amongst the crowd. It may not be their guitar shredding techniques, impressive drum fills or astounding vocals that earn the boys credit, but Patent Pending sure know how to put on a show that pleases both the fans and themselves.
And a second review from the gig in Glasgow on Thursday
Taken from moshville.co.uk

With frequent visits to the dancefloor by Joe and a surprise balcony appearance mid-song by Marc, Patent Pending treated the entire Garage as their stage. Like many bands, they talk about the fans being that extra member (in their case “Second Family”), but PP go the extra mile to really make those people feel included for that hour or so the band are on stage.
Tickets are still available for the four remaining dates from the links below, however, there seems to be limited tickets available for tomorrow's show in Birmingham, since only one website is saying tickets are available

27th April: Bedford Esquires - Ticketsweb, See Tickets
28th April: Birmingham o2 Academy 2 - See Tickets
29th April: Norwich Waterfront Studio - See Tickets
30th April: Portsmouth Pavilians - Ticketmaster, See Tickets

And finally, voting in the Kerrang! Awards are still open for another few days until May 2nd, if you haven't already voted for the guys in the Best International Newcomer award, please go and vote right now, and don't forget to get all your friends to vote too! UK Limited Jackets Announcement and Wolverhampton Corpse Detonation

Posted by Ally on 2014-04-18 21:07
Patent Pending UK JacketsToday we saw two pieces of news being announced, first up was that the guys would be in Wolverhampton, secondly the announcement of Limited UK Jackets.

Let's talk about the jacket first. So a few hours ago Joe tweeted saying that all UK shows (which are taking place over the next two weeks starting with Hit The Deck Festival tomorrow night) would have a "super limited" amount of Patent Pending Jackets up for grabs. The design looks like "US High School Jock" style jacket (or as some people on Instagram referred to it, "Kenickie from Grease"), with a logo on the back of a red and white jacket. The jackets have been designed by Dave Pearson, who will be on tour with guys as part of Lacey.

Don't forget there is only going to be a limited amount of these available at each show so if you want one, you better act fast at whichever show(s) you are going to make sure you get one!

And now on to the Wolverhampton event.

Earlier today the guys announced that this evening they would be taking part at a youth event taking place in Wolverhampton for under 18's.

The event took place between 6pm and 9pm tonight at Wulfrun Hall, from what information we can find the Corpse Detonation event takes place a few times a year for under 18's to experience rock and metal music along with guest DJ sets in an alcohol free environment.

Tonights event saw the band, Sirens, play live music, while Patent Pending did a DJ set, we're yet to know exactly what the guys played, and there doesn't seem to be many photos or videos of anything that went on, there isn't even anything from Corpse Detonation or Wolves Civic to suggest this event was even happening let alone say what was going on. As soon as we get any photos or info on what was played we will be sure to let you know.

Vote for Patent Pending in the 2014 Kerrang! Awards

Posted by jamie on 2014-04-10 16:45
Voting has opened for the 2014 Kerrang! Awards! The Kerrang! Awards are one of the most prestigious award ceremonies in Rock music, held yearly, and presented in London every June, is always attended by a lot of major rock bands, whether nominated for an award or not, this year the awards will be presented by Andrew W.K.

The first stage of the voting is open until 2nd May, where you can nominate any band for the awards, then on the 2nd May a shortlist will be created, and then voting will be open again from May 7th till June 7th.

We at PatentPendingOnline.net are starting a campaign to get all Patent Pending fans to nominate the band for the 'Best International Newcomer' category, it doesn't hurt to vote for the band in as many categories as possible, such as best single, best album, but please, vote for the guys to be nominated for 'Best International Newcomer' and spread the word to other fans and all your friends!

Joe, Rob, Corey, Anthony and Marc deserve this so much, and during last April's UK tour the band was asking everyone during the show to vote for them in this same category, but they didn't get shortlisted, lets hope they do this year!

Please click here to vote, and don't forget to spread the word to all your friends!

'Hey Mario' hits One Million Views!

Posted by jamie on 2014-03-30 15:04
Over night, the official lyric video for Hey Mario, taken from 2013's Brighter, passed the one million (1,000,000) view mark on YouTube!

The video, which uses actual in game footage from the Mario series of games, created by Nintendo, coupled with on screen lyrics, was created by Taylor Enzminger and was published on YouTube on 22nd September 2013, around three weeks before Brighter was released, and was the first full song we heard from the album.

The video is not just something Patent Pending fans enjoy, with it becoming something of a viral hit in the gaming community, especially among fans of the Mario series.

Over the past couple of months the band have been working on a full music video for the song, no release date has been anounced yet, but lets hope its just as popular as the lyric video!

The lyric video is off course viewable in our Video Library by clicking here, and any views of the video in our video library also count towards the view counts on YouTube!

Lyric Library Launches

Posted by jamie on 2014-03-28 20:08
Just over two months since PatentPendingOnline.net was launched, we have just released our latest big feature, our Lyrics Library!

The Lyric Library is exactly what the name suggests, a Library of all Patent Pending lyrics, it is still a work in progress as it is a long process curating all the lyrics and adding them to the database, however at the time of writting all lyrics for Second Family and Brighter are present, and more will be added through out the coming days.

In our Music Library the track listing table on each page has had some icons added, which when clicked will take you to that songs lyrics, and if there's any videos available for that song, these will also be linked to from another icon!

We are constantly working on new features for PatentPendingOnline.net, if you have any ideas don't hesitate to let us know!
