Tour Updates, 1 week to go!

Posted by jamie on 2014-09-30 21:38
With the Brighter UK Tour kicking off in Oxford next Wednesday, we figured its time we did some updates on the upcoming tour!

Three of the dates have now officially sold out, Nottingham, Leeds, and earlier today, Glasgow, and others are dangerously close to selling out too, with Joe tweeting earlier this week that some venues have literally less than 10 tickets remaining, and for Patent Pending's first official, big solo headline tour, we think that's pretty damn amazing! So if you haven't got your ticket yet, ACT FAST! Keep reading for ticket information!

Incase you've been living under a rock these past few weeks, the support for the UK shows will be US Ska Punk rockers The Suburban Legends, (Who some of you may remember supported Bowling for Soup in the UK a couple of years ago!) who will be providing direct support to Patent Pending (Ie, these will play just before Patent Pending) and other support act will be England's own The Hype Theory, a pop punk band from Essex. Support for the Brighter Germany Tour is yet to be announced.

For those who've not been to a show before, we'll run through the basics, I just want to say that these are in no way official, and completely unconfirmed, but rather "educated guesses" using previous tours as an example.

If you've got a VIP ticket, you should aim to arrive at the venue around 90 minutes before general admission, there will be a separate queue for VIP ticket holders, if you're general admission, you don't have to arrive early, but if you want a good view its recommended to get there and queue early.

Once VIP ticket holders are inside the venue, if the VIP process is the same as the Spring Break tour in April, you will get given a signed tour poster on entry, then the guys (minus Anthony) will perform a short (2 or 3 song) acoustic set, then the VIP ticket holders will queue up for official photographs with the band, these will be available to download, for free, online, after this ends there will be about 20 minutes before doors open for standard ticket holders, and during this time the band will be in the crowd to talk to people, sign stuff, take photos etc, but they will leave shortly before the main doors open.

Once everyone is inside the venue there will be a short wait and the first band will start, in this case The Hype Theory, they will play a 20 - 30 minute set, and then there will be another break while the stage is changed around for The Suburban Legends, who will then play a 30 - 45 minute set, then a further break, and Patent Pending will play, for possibly around an hour, but hopefully more!

When the show is over the band will come into the main crowd again, to pose for photos and sign stuff again, depending on the venue this could be either inside, or outside (Or even a mixture of both, with some band members outside, and some inside)

As we mentioned above, a few of the shows have sold out, and even more are close to selling out, so if you haven't got a ticket, you're out of luck, we know that there are tickets available through alternative means, but we at PatentPendingOnline.net STRONGLY recommend that you purchase your tickets from official ticket agencies ONLY, this way you are guaranteed entry to the venue, no questions asked, because reselling tickets is actually against the terms and conditions of most venues, and if a ticket is found to be sold it becomes void, and we don't want you guys getting stuck at the door and not being able to enter the venue.

If you're wanting VIP tickets you're also even more out of luck, since most of those sold within the first day of tickets been on sale, but I must reiterate the message above, because I have actually seen VIP tickets up for sale elsewhere, if you purchase a VIP ticket from unofficial sources you're even less likely to get into the venue because these tickets are checked against names, and some venues even ask for ID to prove it is you that bought the ticket, and it is your name on the VIP Guest List, and if you've bought the ticket from someone, its not going to be your name on that list, and you won't be able to get in!

Suburban Legends set to join Patent Pending in the UK!

Posted by jamie on 2014-09-16 20:33
Patent Pending have moments ago announced the second support band to join them on the Brighter UK Tour next month, Suburban Legends.

Suburban Legends are Ska-Punk band from California, and supported Bowling for Soup in the UK in October 2012 (Patent Pending supported Bowling for Soup in the UK for the first time in October 2013) and I thoroughly enjoyed them, and I am looking forward to seeing them again!

Suburban Legends will be the main support on the tour, playing just before Patent Pending and after The Hype Theory, who were announced as support earlier this month.

The Brighter UK Tour is just a few weeks away now with the first date of the show taking place on the 8th October in Oxford, shows are selling out very fast, with just a handful of tickets left, and Nottingham and Leeds have completley sold out, so if you haven't got your tickets yet, act fast, because when they're gone... they're gone!

Full details of the tour can be seen in the Tour Library.

Which dates of the tour will you be attending, please do let us know, the PatentPendingOnline.net team will be attending the shows in Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, and Leeds... We can't wait to see you there!

Leeds Cockpit closes down forcing Patent Pending venue change

Posted by jamie on 2014-09-10 14:59
Earlier today  we broke the news on our Facebook and Twitter pages that the Leeds Cockpit, where Patent Pending are due to end their forthcoming Brighter UK Tour on the 22nd October, have announced that they will be closing down the venue.

The venue had already announced that they would be shut over the summer months for essential maitenence, however, they have now taken the deciscion to shut the venue permenatly, stating the condition of the building as there reasons. The PatentPendingOnline.net team saw Patent Pending play the Leeds Cockpit on the Spring Break tour in April, and it is a very good venue on the insde, however on the outside it isn't much to look at.

What this means for Patent Pending fans is that the show on the 22nd October show will no longer take place at the Leeds Cockpit, and has been moved to The Key Club, also in Leeds.

The Key Club is a brand new venue due to open later this month in the heart of Leeds, it will be owned by the people who run the Slam Dunk Festival, and is just over 10 minutes walk from the Leeds Cockpit.

Please note that ALL tickets for this event (Standard and VIP) are still valid for the new venue, and the door times will still be the same as before.
